New Television Commercial Shows How Aflac Can Help in a Time of
Need COLUMBUS, Ga., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Aflac announced
the launch of a new commercial titled "The Fall," as part of the
company's ongoing brand definition campaign that demonstrates how
Aflac insurance helps customers focus on getting better and
worrying less about their finances. Every year, approximately 21
million people are injured in the home. Falls are one of the most
common household injuries. As gutter-cleaning season approaches,
safely using a ladder at home becomes increasingly important. There
are roughly 180,000 emergency-room visits per year associated with
household ladder use. In "The Fall" a man realizes that Aflac will
help him if he gets hurt and cannot work because of a home
maintenance accident. The commercial shows a man on a ladder
leaning against the roof of his house. He is cleaning debris from
his gutters and roof and the ladder starts falling backward. He
tries to grab hold of the roof but only catches the cable wire. The
ladder continues to fall in slow motion, and he envisions various
scenarios with the Aflac Duck coming to his aid. The duck helps him
by providing money for groceries, his car and the cable bill.
"There are common accidents that can befall people in their
everyday lives. This new commercial demonstrates that Aflac will be
there in your time of need to give you peace of mind if something
happens," said Dan Amos, chairman and CEO of Aflac. "The Fall"
combines the light-hearted humor of the duck -- he shops for
groceries and drives the man's car -- with a more comprehensive
message about how Aflac insurance may help with everyday expenses
in a family's time of need. Similar to the successful "Mailbox" and
"Pitchin' In" commercials that debuted earlier this year, the new
ad shows how Aflac insurance policies can help customers maintain
their quality of life when they are sick or injured and cannot
work. "The Fall" is the 27th installment in the popular Aflac
commercial series. The advertisement was created by the Kaplan
Thaler Group and is scheduled to debut nationwide on August 21. The
spot will run on major networks and cable channels such as ABC,
CBS, NBC, A&E, CNBC and Discovery. About Aflac For more than 50
