               Award of Share Options to Employees and Directors


Newport Networks Group PLC announces the following transactions.

On 2 October 2007 the Company granted options to employees over a total of
9,672,000 ordinary shares of 0.1 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares").
The exercise price is 3.5p per Ordinary Share, being the closing mid-price on
the date of award. The awards were made under the Newport Networks Group PLC
Enterprise Management Incentive Share Option Scheme and the share options vest
in equal annual instalments over 3 years.

Following this grant the total number of options outstanding is 15,680,000
representing 4.3% of the current issued share capital of the Company.

The above grant of options included the following awards to Directors:
