KENMARE RESOURCES PLC

Kenmare Resources plc. has arranged a placing of 5,698,571 Ordinary Shares at
Stg7p per share, to raise a total of  Stg#398,900.  Of this amount, the
directors of Kenmare and a company in which one of the directors has a
beneficial interest, have subscribed for 2,848,571 shares.  The funds raised
will be used to purchase the interests of the Commonwealth Development
Corporation in the Ancuabe Graphite Mine project company, Grafites de Ancuabe,
S.A.R.L., and to finance ongoing operations.
