Result of Annual General Meeting

The directors of the Company wish to announce that each of the resolutions
proposed at the annual general meeting of the company held on Friday 26th May
2006 were passed.   The full text of each resolution was included in
the notice of the Annual General Meeting of Irish Life & Permanent plc
circulated to shareholders on 18th April, 2006.

A summary of proxy forms lodged for this meeting will shortly be available

In accordance with the listing rules two copies of the resolutions
(other than resolutions concerning ordinary business) passed at the
