WATERBURY, Conn., March 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Webster Bank is investing in technology to
upgrade its ATMs and provide a best-in-class experience for
customers. Webster ATMs will be personalized, simpler, faster
and more convenient as part of our superior customer service.
These upgrades include Talking ATMs, Envelope-Free ATM Deposits,
Picture Perfect Receipts, and Customized Settings.
ADA Compliant: All 291 Webster-owned ATMs across
the four-state footprint are upgraded to comply with the Americans
with Disabilities Act new accessibility standards. This
includes a voice guidance option or "Talking ATM" along with
Braille signage and input controls for visually impaired
customers. What Webster is doing above and beyond what's
required is providing this service in both English and
Spanish. Customers can obtain headsets from branches to
utilize this feature.
Envelope-Free ATM Deposits: Webster is phasing in
this deposit automation where there is no envelope required.
Right now, 37 ATMs in 20 towns showcase this envelope-free scanning
feature and that number will continue to rise throughout the
year. A full rollout of all 253 Webster-owned deposit taking
ATMs is expected by the end of 2012. When visiting an
Envelope-Free ATM, customers can deposit checks and cash securely
without completing an envelope or deposit slip. In addition, they
will be able to insert up to 30 checks and 50 bills directly with
fewer clicks and screens.
Picture-Perfect Receipts: When depositing at an
Envelope-Free ATM, customers will receive the scanned images
showing exactly what checks and cash were deposited on the
receipt.
Customized Settings: By the end of March, it is
anticipated that all Webster-owned ATMs will allow a customized
experience. Customers will be able to set personal
"Favorites". Enabling favorites will help save time whenever
a customer visits a branch ATM. These setting preferences
include:
- Language
- Fast Cash amount
- Printing a receipt or not
- Ability to edit or change these anytime
Once favorite settings are selected, the choices are saved and
automatically applied each time the individual customer visits a
Webster ATM. Saving time and making the customers overall
