Item 8.01    Other Events

On June 9, 2022, Synovus Financial Corp. (the “Company”) announced the appointment of Shellie R. Creson as Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer of the Company and Synovus Bank (the “Bank”), effective on or about August 1, 2022. Ms. Creson brings over 30 years of financial services experience both at large regional banks and as a certified public accountant. Ms. Creson will join the Company from Fifth Third Bancorp, where she serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Audit Executive, a role she has held since 2017. Prior to her time at Fifth Third, Ms. Creson spent ten years at Regions Financial in various roles, including most recently as Executive Vice President, Deputy Director of Audit. Ms. Creson also has over ten years’ experience as a certified public accountant at KPMG working primarily with financial services institutions.
