OfficeMax Elects Szymanski and Cornell to Board and Announces Quarterly Dividend ITASCA, Ill., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OfficeMax(R) Incorporated (NYSE:OMX), a leader in office products and services, announced that Brian Cornell and David M. Szymanski have been elected to serve on the company's board of directors. OfficeMax has also today announced a regular quarterly dividend of 15 cents per common share, payable on January 15, 2005 to shareholders of record on January 1, 2005. Mr. Cornell, 45, is the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Safeway Stores, which he joined in April 2004. Before joining Safeway, Mr. Cornell held senior executive positions with Pepsico, Incorporated, including president of foodservice division and senior vice president of Pepsi-Cola sales. Dr. Szymanski, 47, is the JC Penney Chair of Retailing Studies, research fellow and director of Center for Retailing Studies at Texas A&M University. Dr. Szymanski has been on the Texas A&M faculty since 1987. Mr. Cornell will serve on the Audit Committee and the Governance and Nominating Committee for OfficeMax. Dr. Szymanski will serve on the Executive Compensation Committee and the Governance and Nominating Committee for OfficeMax.
