OfficeMax to Open New Houston Stores Two New Superstores Expand
OfficeMax's Presence in Texas ITASCA, Ill., Dec. 1
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OfficeMax(R) (NYSE:OMX), one of the
nation's largest office supply retailers, will celebrate the grand
opening of two new superstores in Houston, TX, on Sunday, December
5. The 21,000-square-foot stores located at 6135 Westheimer Road
and at Highway 290 and West 34th Street provide one-stop shopping
for all office-related needs. Each store will employ approximately
30 full- and part-time associates. The first 100 customers in the
stores on Sunday, December 5 and Monday, December 6 will receive
free gift bags filled with OfficeMax items. In-store customers at
both locations can register for a chance to win prizes such as a
DVD/VCR player, TV/VCR combo, OfficeMax gift cards and a digital
camera. In addition, on Sunday, December 12, KODA-FM will broadcast
live from the Westheimer store from noon to 2 p.m., while KLTN-FM
will broadcast live from the Highway 290 store from 2 p.m. to 4

feature comprehensive services and a new store design to help

Full-service copy and print center, offering digital printing,
color copying and desktop publishing -- A wide variety of
ready-to-assemble office furniture and a design assistance center
-- New store interior with more product signage and lower sight
lines, allowing shoppers to see where they want to go as they enter
the store -- Products arranged by categories, making browsing
easier -- Professional and affordable computer networking and PC
installation services for home and office computer users OfficeMax
employees are outfitted with wireless headsets and can quickly
answer questions about products or services, thanks to direct
communication with information resources. OfficeMax calls this
"boundless service" - providing faster and better customer service
without departmental boundaries. Both stores will be open from 8
a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. OfficeMax has named Dane
