Starting in 2005, OfficeMax will offer its North American business customers a 100 percent post-consumer paper that is manufactured with wind power and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Mohawk Color Copy 100% Recycled(TM) paper is manufactured without the use of chlorine and chlorine compounds, and is manufactured by Mohawk Paper Mills, the only mill in the U.S. using wind energy to make paper. It will be available through contract orders, and will not initially be available in OfficeMax retail stores. Through the partnership with Mohawk Paper Mills, OfficeMax is the only national office products supplier to carry Mohawk Color Copy 100% Recycled paper in North America.
