NASA's Instructional Materials at OfficeMax for Fast Service,
Convenience and Savings ITASCA, Ill., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- OfficeMax(R) (NYSE:OMX), one of the nation's largest office
supply distributors, today announced it is teaming up with NASA to
inspire students, teachers and the public by getting NASA's
instructional materials into their hands quickly and easily.
Teachers, educators and NASA enthusiasts who want to use documents
from NASA's Web site can now have these large files downloaded and
printed at the closest OfficeMax location nationwide. OfficeMax's
Print and Document Services department is offering a significant
savings -- up to 50 percent -- on all materials printed from the
NASA Web site. The public can search the free materials on NASA's
Web site, http://www.nasa.gov/education/materials , and either
print from their own computer, or click the new OfficeMax icon on
the NASA Web site to have the documents professionally printed and
collated for either local delivery, shipping or next-day pick up at
the nearest OfficeMax store. In many cases, the lessons are lengthy
and contain numerous color pictures and graphics, which can take
hours to download on classroom or personal computers. OfficeMax
Print & Document Services can save students, educators and
enthusiasts valuable time by printing and delivering NASA materials
directly to home or school. "NASA offers a wide variety of
educational resources to help teachers inspire students to learn
more about science, and OfficeMax makes accessing those documents a
little easier," said Sam Duncan, president and CEO of OfficeMax.
"This partnership will save teachers a great deal of time by
letting OfficeMax do the downloading and printing for them."
OfficeMax Print and Document Services facilities are located inside
all of OfficeMax's approximately 950 stores nationwide, and offer
full-service digital printing, self-serve copying, custom printing
and a full suite of binding and finishing services. With OfficeMax
Print and Document Services' digital network, anyone can send files
directly from their desktop to the nearest OfficeMax location via
the Web. "This partnership with OfficeMax offers another creative
avenue to ensure NASA's educational products are available quickly
and efficiently for the public and teachers," said Joe Davis,
NASA's Chief of Strategic Communications. Through its Web site,
NASA has made educational materials available to educators since
1988. Today, teachers can download and print educator guides,
classroom activities, posters, pictures and information about
science, technology, rocketry, planets and engineering. Since
NASA's new Web portal opened in 2003, it has recorded more than 3.4
billion page views. About OfficeMax(R) Incorporated OfficeMax(R)
