OfficeMax Opens Eighth Store in Philadelphia to Serve Growing Business Community Four-Day Celebration Includes $1,000 Shopping Sprees, How-To Workshops for Small Business and Consumers ITASCA, Ill., June 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OfficeMax(R) (NYSE:OMX), one of the nation's largest office supply retailers, responds to local business and consumer needs by opening its eighth Philadelphia superstore. In celebration, the new store, located in Whitman Square, will host a four-day grand opening celebration Thursday through Sunday, July 21 - 24. The celebration will include a business networking event, shopping spree giveaways and how-to workshops for businesses and consumers. Opening-day festivities on Thursday, July 21 include a chance to win the first of four $1,000 shopping sprees, how-to business seminars, a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony with local dignitaries and a catered OfficeMax business leadership event from 4 - 7 P.M., which is open to the public. The 20,000 square-foot OfficeMax store, located at 9755 Roosevelt Blvd. in Whitman Square, will employ approximately 35 full- and part-time associates. The store is the eighth in Philadelphia, and is one of 40 new stores nationwide OfficeMax plans to open in 2005. OfficeMax's four-day grand opening celebration will continue through Sunday, July 24. Free business workshops and informational seminars will be offered through Saturday.
