Gary L. McArthur Named Vice President - Finance and Treasurer for Harris Corporation MELBOURNE, Fla., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) has named Gary L. McArthur as vice president-finance and treasurer for the company. In his new role Mr. McArthur, 44, is responsible for the controller activities at the company's four operating divisions and the company's treasury and tax functions. He reports to Bryan R. Roub, senior vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. McArthur had previously been vice president-corporate development for Harris. Mr. McArthur succeeds David S. Wasserman as treasurer. Mr. Wasserman will be retiring from the company at the end of February following 17 years of service. "Gary has a great aptitude for dealing with the complexities of both corporate finance and division financial operations," said Howard L. Lance, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harris. "He has a proven track record at Harris and an excellent work and educational background that have prepared him well for this new assignment." Mr. McArthur joined Harris in 1997 as director-corporate development and in 2000 was named vice president-corporate development with responsibility for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other company investments. Prior to joining Harris, he was chief financial officer at 3D/EYE, Inc. in Atlanta. Previously, he held executive positions with Nextel Communications, Lehman Brothers, Cellcom Corporation, and Deloitte & Touche. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Utah and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. He also is a Certified Public Accountant.
