WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has been awarded a potential three-year, $8 million task order by Pragmatics, Inc., to provide desktop and help desk support services for up to 37,000 desktops at 28 separate offices in the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Information Resources Management. Harris is a member of the Pragmatics team selected last month by the Department of State (DOS) to execute the Vanguard 1.0 program. The award was made under the Hybrid Information Technology Services for State (HITSS) vehicle and is anticipated to be the first in a series of IT consolidation initiatives planned at the Department of State. Under the task order, Harris will provide desktop support, help desk support, knowledge management, training and asset management services. Harris currently provides similar IT support services to several bureaus within the Department of State.
