DALLAS, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Belo Corp. (NYSE:BLC) announced today that Russell F. (Russ) Coleman has been promoted to senior vice president/General Counsel. Coleman joined Belo as vice president/General Counsel in July 2003, from the law firm of Locke Liddell, where he was a senior partner representing clients in financings, corporate and securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other business matters. Coleman remains Assistant Secretary of Belo Corp. reporting to Guy H. Kerr, Belo's executive vice president/Law and Government and Secretary. Coleman holds a bachelor degree in engineering from Rice University and earned a doctor of jurisprudence degree from The University of Texas School of Law.
