AFLAC Duck Gets Animated with the Looney Tunes(TM) Gang in the
Latest Commercial COLUMBUS, Ga., Dec. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
The AFLAC Duck has never been more animated, as it stars in the
newest commercial featuring the Looney Tunes(TM) - the latest
addition to a growing list of co-stars. The commercial features
Looney Tunes legends Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote and the
Road Runner. In the past, Yogi Berra, Wayne Newton and Chevy Chase
have shared the stage with the feathered co-star known for its
familiar AFLAAAAAAAC quack. (Logo:

opens with Bugs and Daffy sitting on a park bench, a re-creation of
the first AFLAC television commercial which featured two men
talking on a park bench. The re-creation is deliberate since the
new spot will air for the first time during college football bowl
games on January 1, 2004, four years to the day that America was
introduced to the AFLAC Duck. As Bugs and Daffy discuss the need
for insurance in the "cartoon business," the AFLAC Duck is seen
being nearly toppled by the Road Runner, while quacking
"AFLAAAAAAC!" As the spot proceeds, the Road Runner continues to
dodge disaster, Bugs chomps his ever-present carrot and poor Wile
E. Coyote, as expected, falls victim to his own traps and is last
seen plummeting to the bottom of a canyon with the AFLAC Duck in
tow ... thank heavens for AFLAC. The "AFLAC Looney Tunes"
commercial marks the 16th spot in the AFLAC campaign. The
commercial was created by the Kaplan Thaler Group in partnership
with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "We are pleased with the
recognition the AFLAC Duck has received over the past four years
and are constantly looking for new innovative places for the duck
to visit," said Daniel P. Amos, Chairman and CEO of AFLAC. "We
thought it was about time that these two popular ducks met." "It's
a new territory for the duck," says Linda Kaplan Thaler, CEO and
Chief Creative Officer of the agency that bears her name. "He's
been seen at Vegas shows, on roller coasters, and even grocery
shopping with Chevy Chase, but this is the first time he's entered
the land of animation, and the first time he's been featured with
another duck." "The AFLAC campaign incorporates the same kind of
irreverent humor that has made Looney Tunes so popular over the
years," said Jordan Sollitto, Executive Vice President of Worldwide
Marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "Our characters are a
perfect fit for the spot and the spot is a perfect vehicle for
them." AFLAC Incorporated (NYSE:AFL) is an international holding
