Mindspeed to Feature Semiconductor Solutions at Inter BEE 2010 for Broadcast Video Production, Transmission and Delivery
November 16 2010 - 10:02PM
Business Wire
Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MSPD), a leading
supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure
applications, today announced it is showcasing its broad family of
high-definition (HD) and 3G video semiconductor solutions for
broadcast-station equipment at the 46th International Broadcast
Equipment Exhibition 2010 (Inter BEE 2010), November 17-19,
2010, in Chiba City, Japan.
Mindspeed®’s products can be seen during the conference in booth
6309 at the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex.
"Mindspeed’s products make it easier for larger broadcasters and
service providers to create, transmit and deliver today’s growing
volume of video content that is driving unprecedented demand for IP
bandwidth,” said Kurt Busch, senior vice president and general
manager of the high-performance analog (HPA) business unit at
Mindspeed. “We offer the industry’s broadest line of crosspoints
from 2 x 2 through 288 x 288 non-blocking matrix sizes, along with
a comprehensive offering of complementary devices that enhance
signal integrity, while reducing the size, cost and complexity of
today’s broadcast video routing switchers.”
Mindspeed will be featuring the following at Inter BEE:
- M21170 288 x 288 crosspoint switch: The
device replaces four cascaded 144 x 144 devices to create a 288 x
288 non-blocking matrix for a router’s switching core, doubling
available switching capacity so that users can route significantly
more serial data streams. Additionally, configurable switching
enables systems to connect and deliver outputs to large numbers of
cameras, video tape recorders (VTRs), disk recorders and other
devices and formats, while handling an extensive range of
events.
- M21004 2 x 2 switch and equalizer for
long printed circuit board and backplane traces: The 2 x 2
non-blocking crosspoint switch is optimized for SDI applications
and can run up to 3.2Gbps. At 36mW per channel, the M21004 offers
versatility by including integrated trace equalization at the
input, plus output de-emphasis, isolated input and output supply
voltages, as well as an on-chip regulator.
- High-speed integrity and switching
solutions: The company’s third-generation signal-conditioning
technology helps production routers to preserve 1080p video quality
through the entire signal path and all stages in the production
workflow.
- Physical media devices (PMDs) for
optical SDI transmission: Mindspeed also will be showing its laser
drivers, receiver optical subassembly (ROSA) components and
limiting amplifiers as they transmit 3Gbps-SDI (3G-SDI) data across
a 30-kilometer optical fiber link.
Mindspeed’s high-performance analog business unit also offers
multi-rate equalizer and cable driver solutions, reclockers and
stand-alone signal conditioners that span the complete signal chain
for an SDI router and support emerging 3G HDTV standards, as well
as legacy HD/SD and SD-only applications.
