Business Wire
Interactive Intelligence Inc. (Nasdaq:ININ), a global developer of
business communications software, has been named for the sixth year
in a row one of Software Magazine's 2006 Top 500, a ranking of the
worlds largest software and services suppliers based on 2005
revenue. Interactive Intelligence was ranked 230th among the top
500 suppliers, with revenues of $62.9 million in 2005 an
improvement over last years ranking of 267th with $55.1 million in
revenue in 2004. Highlights of the Software 500 show Interactive
Intelligence well ahead of the total software industry average
growth rate, and, compared to its two largest competitors, the
company again showed a greater investment in research and
development as a percent of revenue. With our strong revenue
growth compared to the software industry average of a decline at
just below 1 percent, were especially proud of our accomplishments
over the last couple of years, said Interactive Intelligence CEO,
Dr. Donald E. Brown. In addition, with our investment of 20
percent in R&D compared to just 13 and 8 percent invested
respectively by our two largest competitors, were well-positioned
to not only increase our ranking next year, but to solidify our
standing as the leader in innovative all-software IP telephony
products for contact centers and enterprises. The Interactive
Intelligence unified communications software suite, first released
in 1997, is scalable and standards-based, offering single-platform
architecture designed to eliminate the cost and complexity
introduced by individual point products. The companys software is
ideal for contact centers and enterprises of all sizes looking to
decrease costs, increase productivity, and improve customer service
through more effectively managing interactions. Founded in 1994,
Interactive Intelligence has grown its global customer base to more
than 2,500 companies, including such brand names as Abbott
Laboratories, AIG, Amway, BMW, IKEA, Lockheed Martin, Research In
Motion (RIM), U.S. Postal Service, Walgreens, and many others. The
Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the worlds largest
software and services suppliers targeting medium to large
enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and
business managers involved in software and services purchasing. The
ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue
for 2005. This includes revenue from software licenses, maintenance
and support, training and software-related services and consulting.
Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since
many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial
information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co.
