Fisher Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSCI), a leader in local media innovation, today announced that it has launched Seattle Pulp, a new life and style website catering to the 18-49 demographic. Through its network of first-rate contributors, Seattle Pulp will provide a unique and refreshing style to its audience. Readers will be able to monitor the city's pulse and gain insight into a wide variety of everyday life topics, including the newest restaurants and bars, upcoming events, the latest in technology, gadgets and gaming, personal and career development and reviews of the "Best Of" the city.

Seattle Pulp will entertain, inform and engage audiences with content from compelling contributors. Personalities include Rain City Super Hero Phoenix Jones, Foodie Fashionista Salty Seattle, career consultant Paul Anderson, Salty's on Alki Beach Executive Chef Jeremy McLachlan and home improvement expert Tami Michaels, among others.

"The rapid growth of social media as the new platform to share real-time information has given rise to a wave of citizen journalists, who are able to share their specific knowledge and passion with the local community," said Randa Minkarah, Fisher's Senior Vice President of Revenue & Business Development. "Our new Pulp brand will bring together these well-known and popular experts under one website, making it easier for consumers to access the information, as well as providing advertisers the ability to target specific segments of interest."

With a more urban, witty and fun voice, Seattle Pulp is aimed at enhancing and complementing the current KOMOnews.com user experience. Niche sections such as Nosh, Culture, 9 to 5, Dwell, Gadgets and Rides will provide a more targeted and results-oriented sale for advertisers.

Seattle Pulp, which can be found at seattlepulp.com, is the first website under Fisher Communications' Pulp brand. The Company expects to launch Portland Pulp later this summer. The launch of the Pulp brand is the most recent initiative under Fisher's broadcast-to-broadband strategy, which seeks to leverage technological advancements to create compelling digital content that can be distributed across multiple platforms.
