Facebook, eBay Pledge to Combat Trading in Fake Reviews -UK Regulator

Facebook Inc. (FB) and eBay Inc. (EBAY) have pledged to combat
fake and misleading reviews on their sites, following an order from
the U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority, the antitrust
regulator said Wednesday.
Facebook has removed 188 groups and disabled 24 user accounts,
and eBay has permanently banned 140 users, after the CMA flagged
its concern about the trade of face and misleading reviews in .
Both platforms have signed up to agreements to better identify,
investigate and respond to fake and misleading reviews, the CMA
said.
On June 21, the CMA urged Facebook and eBay to prevent fake and
misleading online reviews from being bought and sold on their
platforms. Both companies said at the time that they would
cooperate with the regulator to address the issue.
