Business Wire
The CEOs of Cypress Semiconductor Corp., SunPower Corp. and
Second Harvest Food Bank along with San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed will
dedicate a new 322-KW SunPower solar power system at the Second
Harvest Food Bank’s headquarters at 750 Curtner Ave. in San Jose.
The event will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 1. The
solar system is largely funded by $1.1 million in combined
donations from the two San Jose companies. The cost savings from
the solar-electric system will save the food bank enough money to
purchase 315 more pounds of food per day — the equivalent of 630
meals per day, or six million meals over the next 25 years.
