CME Group Inc. (CME) has submitted an offer to acquire the London Metal Exchange, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing a person with knowledge of the bid.

The person did not disclose the price of CME's offer, according to the report.

Spokesmen for CME and LME both declined to comment on the matter to Bloomberg.
