OVERLAND PARK, Kan., July 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Brooke Franchise Corporation, a subsidiary of Brooke Corporation (NASDAQ:BXXX), announces the appointment of Cynthia Weber Scherb as chief legal officer and general counsel. Scherb will assume responsibility for Brooke Franchise's legal, licensing and regulatory activities that were previously handled by Brooke Corporation. Scherb has more than 20 years of legal experience and, prior to joining Brooke, served as senior counsel at Sprint where she was director of complex litigation and class actions. She held numerous positions at H&R Block, most recently vice president, corporate counsel for litigation, and also served as vice president for the contracts, marketing, privacy and intellectual property legal group. Additionally, she held titles of assistant vice president, senior counsel and director of litigation. Before joining H&R Block, Scherb practiced law in Kansas City for six years at Lathrop & Gage (formerly Lathrop & Norquist), and clerked for Justice Louis W. Schultz of the Iowa Supreme Court. Scherb graduated magna cum lade with her bachelor's degree in English from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and earned her juris doctorate with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law.
