Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX) announced today that two of its
catalogs won top awards at the 21st annual Multichannel Merchant
Awards. The Cable Catalog(R) 2005 edition won the gold award--the
top honor--for highest excellence in the Computers, High-Tech
Equipment and Software Print-Channel category. The 184-page catalog
markets the company's extensive line of copper, fiber optic and
data/video/voice structured cabling products. In addition to the
esteemed gold award, the Company's 712-page UK catalog, Black Box
Network Services 2005-2006, won the silver award in the
International Print-Channel category. Hosted by Multichannel
Merchant, formerly Catalog Age magazine, the awards ceremony was
held in Chicago, IL. The awards, conferred as "tributes of
excellence," mark the eleventh consecutive year that Black Box has
been recognized with top honors in its category. Additionally, this
year marks the seventh year that Black Box has won an award for its
international catalogs. "Our goal is for our catalogs to be easy
for customers to navigate and to present our products and services
in an informative and interesting way," explains Julie Lyda,
Director of Marketing and Sales for Black Box. "We're honored that
the judges found value in both the creative approach and the
execution of our catalogs." The awards are based on a point system
given by a panel of judges. The judging criteria encompasses areas
such as merchandising, creativity, customer service and catalog
effectiveness. Winners will be featured in Multichannel Merchant
magazine's annual awards issue in September 2006. To receive your
