Siemens Communications, Inc., and Black Box Corporation (Nasdaq:BBOX) today announced a multi-year distribution agreement enabling Black Box Network Services to sell, deploy and support the Siemens portfolio of HiPath(R) Real-Time voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) solutions, including systems, devices and applications. As a Siemens Authorized Reseller, Black Box becomes one of Siemens' largest distributors; in January, Black Box completed its acquisition of Norstan, Inc., a 2005 award-winning channel reseller for Siemens. During 2004, Norstan increased its HiPath unit sales by 20 percent, earning the Siemens Pinnacle Sales Award for outstanding sales achievement. "Siemens is an integral part of our voice services business," said Fred Young, Chief Executive Officer of Black Box Corporation. "With our new agreement, Black Box will continue to expand its installed Siemens customer base throughout the United States and Canada." Black Box will continue to sell and support the complete portfolio of Siemens communications solutions. This includes HiPath Real-Time IP systems - for organizations of all sizes - providing centralized control of features, access, configuration and call-processing functions. The Siemens portfolio also includes HiPath Wireless, secure and mobile management solutions for voice over wireless LAN networks. In addition, HiPath solutions include the DirX(R) family of access and data management systems, the optiPoint family of IP and wireless phones, the ProCenter(R) portfolio of contact center solutions, the Xpressions(R) unified messaging family and the HiPath OpenScape(TM), a presence-enabled and permission-based unified communication portal. Siemens also offers a complete line of HiPath professional, lifecycle and managed services. "Black Box, with its acquisition of Norstan, continues to expand its operational footprint and is a leader in providing enterprises with the next generation of converged voice, data and multimedia solutions," said Rick Fitzgerald, vice president and general manager of the Siemens Channel Solutions Group at Siemens Communications, Inc. "Black Box is a strong technical services partner. Their sales and operational teams, coupled with a strong commitment to customer service, also make them a valuable enterprise partner."
