Google on Thursday said Android users in Europe would be given
the opportunity to install different search engines and browsers on
their devices.
The company said the move follows changes made to comply with a
European Commission ruling from last year.
After users receive an update to Google Play, the company said,
new screens will display search apps and browsers. Each screen will
display five apps, including apps already downloaded on a user's
device, based on their popularity and shown in random order.
Users also will be given the opportunity to change Chrome's
default search engine.
