Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc. These results are subject to change as a result of final management review and closing adjustments for the quarter and fiscal year end. The Company's higher than anticipated net sales in the second quarter of 2006 primarily reflected stronger than expected bookings and continuous business progress achieved in the quarter. In a separate announcement, AFOP has achieved full compliance with the European Parliament's Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. The RoHS directive bans the use of certain hazardous substances, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in electrical and electronic equipment sold into Europe. AFOP has maintained an initiative to remove these substances from its products for over a year and has been shipping RoHS compliant products to customers since the first quarter of this year.
