Self-driving cars are only safer than human drivers when everything is pretty much perfect
Using ADAS while turning or in low light conditions — such as dawn or dusk — actually increased crashes

While generally safer, so-called self-driving cars are five times more likely to crash in low light conditions and twice as likely to crash while turning compared with human drivers. Rain also doesn’t help autonomous vehicles navigate their way around the world: a downpour makes autonomous vehicles twice as likely to crash over humans, though they scored slightly better than people in other weather events.

This mixed bag of information, while valuable, is nothing new. Over the last decade companies have spent billions developing self-driving technology that can barely turn left, let alone handle the chaotic nature of U.S. roads in a safe and predictable manner. We still aren’t much closer to a self-driving world, if we’ll ever see it.

This research comes out the same week a Tesla in Full Self-Driving Beta mode crashed into a stopped police cruiser. On top of that, Waymo also recalled 672 of its robotaxis in Phoenix, Arizona due to a crash involving a stationary wooden utility pole.
Look at that Waymo veered into a utility pole just like Teslas like to do. What this shows is that Musk and Tesla are still conning the public with the robotaxi stuff as Tesla will not be able to deliver a true self driving network anytime soon. Best its gonna muster in the shortterm is some geofenced testing in a few cities like Waymo and Cruise until the robotaxis suddenly accelerate and veer into trees, utility poiles, buildings, etc... At which point it'll become obvious that self driving vehicles are a public hazard.

When computers go wrong, we tend to assume it's just some software hiccup, a bit of bad programming. These incidents, called single-event upsets, are rare and it can be impossible to be sure that cosmic rays were involved in a specific malfunction because they leave no trace behind them.

And yet they have been singled out as the possible culprits behind numerous extraordinary cases of computer failure. Hutchison Effect & Teslas Whompy Wheel issue

Jain is one of tens of thousands of Tesla owners who have experienced premature failures of suspension or steering parts, according to a Reuters review of thousands of Tesla documents. The chronic failures, many in relatively new vehicles, date back at least seven years and stretch across Tesla’s model lineup and across the globe, from China to the United States to Europe, according to the records and interviews with more than 20 customers and nine former Tesla managers or service technicians.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/tesla-musk-steering-suspension/

The exact cause of the Hutchison Effect is unknown in public spheres as it is classified under national security. However the most likely culprit seems to be a combination of electromagnetic sources coming together in a way to change the makeup of metals leading to their rusting, softening, fracturing, complete breaking, even dustification. Keep in mind the degree of metal materials that are within our buildings and infrastructure...even in concrete. Maybe this is why we are seeing an increase in building and bridge collapses?

Speaking of a shitty Tesla experience.

Tesla Suddenly Caught Fire, Owner Must Sign Confidentiality Agreement for Compensation

According to the report from the “Life Help(Bang)” program of Shandong Radio and Television Station on June 11th, a Tesla Model Y owner reflected that after his vehicle caught fire, Tesla officials compensated him but also required him to sign an agreement, which he found difficult to accept.

The owner explained that his Model Y was just purchased about half a year ago. On the evening of February 5th, the vehicle caught fire while parked on the side of the road and was completely destroyed. Personal belongings worth thirty to forty thousand yuan inside the car were also burned.

Subsequently, the report issued by the fire department showed that the possible cause of the fire may be a faulty steering integrated circuit board connector in the vehicle, leading to an electrical malfunction and igniting the fire. The car owner stated that Tesla was willing to compensate him 30,000 yuan for his personal belongings inside the car, but required him to sign an agreement. However, they did not reach an agreement with Tesla.

In this agreement, Tesla requested him to delete materials such as videos, photos, and voice recordings related to this fire incident sent to media outlets. The car owner stated that he could not comply with this request. Currently, Tesla and the car owner have not reached a consensus.
Cover tracks much there Elon and Tesla? Sure we'll compensate you for your pretty much new Tesla spontaneously combusting just so long as all evidence of the event is deleted and you sign a NDA so no one finds out about it. Thats some seriously shady behavior.

This claims that a faulty steering circuit board may have been the cause of the fire but to ignite the batteries to completely destroy the car it takes thermal runaway which rarely happens if the fire began elsewhere in the Tesla. It is possible the circuit board and batteries experienced EM induced currents resulting in both the circuit board fire and batteries to experience thermal runaway.

https://pandaily.com/tesla-suddenly-caught-fire-owner-must-sign-confidentiality-agreement-for-compensation/

========================================

How does EMF cause lithium batteries to experience thermal runaway and thus spontaneously combust? One of two main ways:

#1 - Overcharge/Discharge

With various impressed external magnetic field intensities an effect was noticed on the charge and discharge curves as well as the charge and mass concentrations within the batteries. With the two-dimensional model starting from 0mT and going to 1mT had the effect of discharging the battery faster and charging the battery faster. With the two-dimensional model starting from 1mT and going to -1mT had the effect of charging the battery faster. In either case an effect on the various characteristics of the battery were studied. With the experiments conducted on the two types of batteries the effect was more profound than subtle. Discharge times were twice as fast and charge times were equally
affected. With the smaller batteries they all generally charged faster under the presence of a magnetic field due to more uniform penetration. In the presence of the field they also discharged faster. The larger batteries would not see the same uniform penetration because only a small area of the battery sees the center of the coil it is placed on

In this dissertation, they found that external magnetic fields significantly increased charge and discharge rates in individual lithium battery cells; like shown in the following image. They also found that smaller batteries were impacted to a greater degree than larger ones. This is likely a reason Tesla is switching to larger battery cells in addition to employing magnetic attenuating honeycomb sandwich battery pack.

https://ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S0378775320302172-fx1_lrg.jpg

#2 - Stimulation of Dendrite Growth

Thermoelectric current causes asymmetric growth pattern of dendrites.
thermoelectromagnetic convection occurs in the vicinity of the solid-liquid interface, and vortices are generated between dendritic arms. It is shown that the thermoelectromagnetic convection has a major influence on dendritic morphology.

Firefighters smashed a Tesla's window to rescue a toddler after the battery died, report says

A toddler was rescued from a locked Tesla by Scottsdale firefighters after the car's battery died.

Renee Sanchez told Arizona's On Your Side that she was planning to take her 20-month-old granddaughter to the Phoenix Zoo when the incident occurred.

She said the EV's battery died after she closed the door on her grandaughter and walked around the car to get in the front seat.

"I could not get in. My phone key wouldn't open it. My card key wouldn't open it," Sanchez told the outlet.

She ended up calling 911 operators, who then dispatched Scottsdale firefighters, per the report.

After arriving on the scene, the firefighters told Sanchez they often struggled to get inside locked Teslas. They eventually broke the car's window with an ax and rescued the child, the report said.
This makes two Teslas in the Phoenix, AZ area that had their batteries suddenly die. This time it locked a toddler inside. Again i bet the BMS cut off power to prevent thermal runaway. While thats a good thing and better than being cremated, do you want to have your young child or grandchild locked in a car in 100+ degree heat far away from help? EVs and Teslas continue to be a hazard to the public.

1 dead after Tesla crashes into tree, goes up in flames in Osceola County: FHP

According to the incident report, a man was speeding down Hickory Tree Road in a 2018 Telsa Model X.

At some point, the driver lost control on a curve, which caused the Tesla to run off the road and hit a tree, troopers said. The impact caused the Tesla to go up in flames.

The driver was pronounced dead on-scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Sounds like the Tesla was suffering SUA and drove straight off the road into a tree catching on fire. Could this be an example of thermal runaway where the BMS failed or just simply a glitch in the Tesla where the impact caused the batteries to combust.

Arizona Tesla driver trapped in EV following dead battery escapes using ‘hidden latch’

A Tesla driver found herself trapped inside her 2021 Model Y electric vehicle after it shut down while traveling on a full charge, locking the doors and windows.

This Arizona-based motorist, Diane, tried to look at her Tesla’s owner’s manual to find a solution but found its glove box storage area wouldn’t open without electricity.

Diane said: “It was fully charged. I unplugged the car, went to get in my car, shut the door, and everything just shut down. I couldn’t open the windows. I couldn’t unlock the doors. I was trapped,” CBS affiliate AZFamily reports.
Best guess, the battery management system shut the EV down to prevent thermal runaway thus locking the owner in the car. Cant even get into the glove compartment because everything is electronic. These are all bad things because computers/electronics glitch. If everything is electronic you lose access to every system including the cars physical manual with instructions on how to access the hidden manual door latch. Now imagine the car was on fire when this all transpired....Diane would have been cremated along with her Tesla. Fortunately Teslas BMS seems to have worked, in a way...this time.

Next, Diane dialed a friend for help, who arrived but couldn’t figure out how to open the SUV from its outside.

Diane responded by opening Tesla’s app and requesting roadside assistance, resulting in a customer service representative informing her there was an unmarked latch to open the door.

These manual levers exist on the Model Y’s front two door handles and the floor area of the rear seats’ outboard storage compartment underneath a removable rubber lining.

Yup, the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will start at noon ET on July 26.

The 2024 Opening Ceremony will take the form of a four-mile-long floating procession down the Seine River. Athletes and performers will ride through the heart of Paris in approximately 160 boats, with the parade ending at the Trocadero. The Opening Ceremony will conclude there with a final show as the Eiffel Tower lights up the night. Looking forward eagerly.

Man Riding Scooter Hit, Killed by Car on Highway 87 near Taylor Street [San Jose, CA]

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal scooter crash happened around 3:00 a.m. Friday. Under unclear circumstances, a 24-year-old Elk Grove man driving a 2021 Tesla struck the 23-year-old San Jose man on a Lime scooter. Subsequently, officers responded to the scene to find the victim on the road near the Taylor Street off-ramp. Tragically, he passed away from his severe injuries. Authorities did not release his name.

Following the crash, the uninjured Tesla driver stayed at the scene. Police made no arrests but have yet to identify the exact events preceding this crash.
Unclear circumstances means the Tesla may have gone out of control before hitting the scooter. Self driving? Details are light so this is a might be self driving incident? Seeing as the accident occurred near the offramp, it would seem the Tesla drove into the back of the scooter.

When computers go wrong, we tend to assume it's just some software hiccup, a bit of bad programming. And yet they have been singled out as the possible culprits behind numerous extraordinary cases of computer failure. How about Elon Musk transferring his offices to Mars to run his companies on Earth without interference on our planet?

boston745 boston745 1 week ago
I definitely believe Musk participated in pumping TSLA for gains like a fake it until it makes it scam; gains which he used to fund SpaceX for the military and consumer purposes. That said, it doesnt mean i do not believe he or others that pumped TSLA like they did, necessarily did it solely for gain. I believe Musk intends for Tesla to succeed...one day. I just do not think he ever will because of EM radiation will continue to plague his company's technology. It'll get worse the more the earths magnetic field weakens. Fake it until they make it scams in Silicon Valley generally have good intentions at their core. They overstate things because they need the funding and without it definitely will not succeed. I get the base reasoning. I think Theranos was the same at its core too, particularly early on, thinking if they threw enough money at the problem they could solve it one day. Like Theranos I expect Tesla to fail in its level 5 network of Robo Teslas because Teslas will continue to glitch, go out of control, kill, and spontaneously combust all because of EM radiation. I do think Tesla will succeed at some limited robotaxi network testing (level 4). However because Tesla receives so much publicity, this may actually cause more harm to the self driving industry when those robotaxi's inevitably glitch and cause harm.

There are more downsides to EVs than just going out of control. Like the fact they are destroying lives, in addition to taking them, leading to false imprisonment because its so hard to identify a glitching piece of tech.
EVs also pollute more than their ICE counterparts because of tire wear in addition to the significant harm done from all the mining required, pollution from processing, and upfront pollution for battery production. EVs require alot of gas to produce.
EVs also expose operators and their passengers to unsafe levels of EM radiation which will cause biological harm that is not currently being recognized. EVs are going to be a blight on this world.

The computer errors from outer space
(Elon Musk: Model S not a car but a ‘sophisticated computer on wheels’)

When computers go wrong, we tend to assume it's just some software hiccup, a bit of bad programming. But ionising radiation, including rays of protons blasted towards us by the sun, can also be the cause. These incidents, called single-event upsets, are rare and it can be impossible to be sure that cosmic rays were involved in a specific malfunction because they leave no trace behind them.

Plus, since giant ejections from the sun can sometimes send huge waves of particles towards Earth, what's called space weather, an unnerving prospect looms: we could see much more disruption to computers than we're used to during a massive geomagnetic storm in the future

With the rise of self-driving car technology, it's possible that computer systems on these vehicles could malfunction due to cosmic rays. What if, during an automated trip, imagery from a camera mounted at the front of the car became corrupted and the on-board computer failed to spot a person walking out in front of the vehicle?
However, the research is yet to be published and he says he's not allowed to reveal what the starting level of accuracy was during the experiments.

Such interventions could make self-driving cars of the future safer but they wouldn't eliminate the possibility of a cosmic ray causing other problems. And this raises an interesting conundrum for insurers.

"In a world of fully autonomous vehicles, how can you prove the accident happened because of cosmic rays?" says Rech. "That is very challenging. I mean, it's impossible, by definition." In ambiguous cases, disputes over whether a human or technology manufacturer – or space weather – was at fault might be difficult to resolve
Impossible to prove but can and does happen. Can even be emulated in a lab setting.

You can see right here that Teslas still suffer Whompy Wheel issues. "Tesla was driving passed a parked bus and its back wheel fell off🤣". Tesla isnt using inferior alloys, EM radiation is causing spontaneous fracturing of its suspension components.

Tesla is not a robotics company. You could say its a software company that also produces hardware or even an AI company that produces hardware. Thats still not a robotics company. Optimus robots are essentially hardware Tesla is trying to produce to use its AI software in. In this sense Tesla is like Apple. Apple produces several hardware products that utilize its software ecosystem but the hardware is really about providing a vessel for its software in a way to control quality of the hardware its software platform is used on. Which begs the question, why does Tesla have supposed quality control issues that cause its Whompy Wheel issue? I say it doesnt have quality control issues and that the hardware is fine. Thus Hutchison Effect is what causes Tesla's Whompy Wheel issues; a consequence of all that EM radiation.
That said, Tesla will fail to produce robots that function safely just like it fails to produce cars that function safely. This is because EM radiation will cause Tesla's Optimus robots to glitch and kill just like it does Tesla cars. EM Radiation will also cause Optimus robots to spontaneously combust and burn houses down; particularly if they use lithium batteries.

Tesla (TSLA) shareholders voted in favor of CEO Elon Musk's pay package at Thursday's annual shareholder meeting. Canaccord Genuity Managing Director George Gianarikas joins Catalysts to discuss the results of the shareholder vote, takeaways from the event, and the EV company's outlook.

"We were very encouraged that shareholders approved the previously approved pay package.

Obviously, Elon Musk is critical to the success of Tesla in the past and in the future... We're very bullish on the long-term prospects of full self-driving (FSD) and we're bullish on robotics," Gianarikas says.

At Thursday's meeting, Musk discussed leveraging the inference compute on some of the full self-driving vehicles, which Gianarikas believes could in the long-term "create something that looks like Amazon's (AMZN) AWS that he can then sell and create a revenue stream around. That's probably going to impact the PNL 2030 and beyond."

As Tesla continues to innovate with AI, Gianarikas believes the company is "in an incredibly enviable position relative to other companies for real-world AI. And what real-world AI means for us in the near term is full self-driving, maybe long-term moving robots."

Tesla in self-driving mode plows into police car as officer investigates separate deadly crash in OC
The Fullerton Police Department said the driver admitted to putting the vehicle in self-driving mode while he was on the phone.

FULLERTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A Tesla that was in self-driving mode plowed into a police cruiser in Fullerton while the officer was investigating a deadly crash.

The incident happened Wednesday night at the intersection of W. Orangethorpe and Courtney avenues.

The Fullerton Police Department said the police cruiser had its emergency lights on, and several flares were placed on the road when a blue Tesla crashed into the vehicle.

"The driver of this Tesla admitted to engaging his vehicle's 'self-drive' mode while using his cell phone, a clear violation of responsible driving practices and California law," said police a news release.

Why say self driving and not full self driving? Pretty self explanatory, Tesla with FSD enabled drove straight into an emergency vehicle like so many Teslas before it.

Tesla suffers SUA and drives into a parking garage wall.
I'm begging all of you to NEVER get in a Tesla as long as you live. It started accelerating on its own in a parking garage and my dad lost all control of the car and we ran into a wall at 40 mph. Most horrifying experience of my life.
