Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) on Monday said it has signed an agreement with best-selling author Dean Koontz that includes a five-book deal and a collection of six short thrillers.

The Seattle ecommerce giant said its Thomas & Mercer thriller imprint will publish the first book, "Devoted," next spring.

Amazon said "Nameless," the short-thriller collection, will be available Nov. 12 from Amazon Original Stories, free to Prime and Kindle Unlimited customers.
