Dow Jones News
-- A Ford Motor Co. (F) official said the company's decision to
produce trucks rather than cars at a plant in Michigan will result
in a $1 billion boost to operating earnings, Reuters reports
Wednesday.
-- The company decided to cease production of hybrids and Focus
compacts at its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, which now makes
pickup trucks and SUVs, the report said.
-- Jim Baumbick, vice president of enterprise product line
management, told a conference audience "The absolute change in
profitability is over $1 billion EBIT and we expect over the long,
normal cycle, that to continue to improve," the report said.
