Response to Press Report

In response to press report regarding Shinhan Financial Group (hereafter “SFG”) potentially acquiring ING Life Insurance Korea, Ltd. (hereafter “ING Life Korea”) at the price of KRW 2.5 trillion, on April 10, 2018, SFG disclosed that there are no updates to the disclosure dated April 6, 2018 and no specific decisions have been made regarding a potential acquisition of ING Life Korea as of April 11, 2018.

SFG expects to make further disclosures in the event specific decisions are made regarding the above.
