Including Best Equity ETF Group
Award
TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2017 /CNW/ - Invesco was honoured with 11
awards at the 2017 Lipper Fund Awards, presented last night in
Toronto. The awards recognize the
company's breadth of offerings and geographically diverse
investment expertise.
"It's always an honour for Invesco to be recognized as a leader
in the Canadian investment industry," said Rob Mikalachki, Chief Investment Officer of
Trimark Investments. "These awards truly represent some of the best
that we have to offer. From our actively managed fundamental
strategies to our index-based ETFs, these awards demonstrate the
diversity of thought that is a vital part of our identity here at
Invesco."
The winning funds
Trimark International Companies Fund (Series A),
co-managed by Jeff Feng and
Matt Peden, was named best in the
International Equity category for both the three-year and five-year
periods. The portfolio management team focuses on companies that
offer strong management, industry leadership and a demonstrated
commitment to securing a competitive advantage.
Trimark Emerging Markets Class (Series A) was awarded top
honours in the Emerging Markets Equity category, also over both the
three-year and five-year periods. Led by Mr. Feng and co-managed by
Mr. Peden, the Fund focuses on attractively priced businesses that
are based or active in emerging markets and have solid competitive
advantages.
Invesco Indo-Pacific Fund (Series A) topped the Asia
Pacific Equity category for both the five- and 10-year periods. The
Fund is managed by the Invesco Perpetual team in Henley-on-Thames, U.K., which takes an active,
pragmatic and flexible approach that combines top-down and
bottom-up analyses. The team looks to own companies with
high-quality management teams and undervalued future earnings
streams.
Invesco European Growth Class (Series A) earned top
honours in the European Equity category for the 10-year period. The
Fund is managed by the Invesco International and Global Growth team
from Invesco Advisers, Inc. based in Atlanta, Georgia. The team's investment
process identifies companies that possess, or exhibit, the
potential for accelerating or above-average earnings growth;
analyzes the quality and sustainability of earnings; and looks for
reasonable valuation.
Invesco Strategic Yield Fund (Series A) took home
the award for three-year performance in the Global Fixed Income
Balanced category. Based in Atlanta, the Fund's management team, Invesco
Global Asset Allocation, seeks to generate higher yields than
traditional fixed-income investments through a strategic mix of
high-yielding asset classes paired with assets that have
historically performed well in times of economic uncertainty.
Exchange-traded funds (ETFs)
Invesco was also named best overall ETF provider in the Equity
category.
"It is an absolute honour to be recognized as the best Equity
ETF provider in Canada," said
Christopher Doll, Vice President,
PowerShares Sales and Strategy. "It is also a testament to our
focus on helping investors meet their goals through
outcome-oriented strategies. From the beginning, our goal has been
to provide a better investment experience by balancing potential
returns with lower risk."
PowerShares Canadian Dividend Index ETF (PDC) took home
the award for three-year performance in the Canadian Dividend &
Income Equity ETF category. The underlying index (Nasdaq Select
Canadian Dividend Index) is comprised of companies incorporated in
Canada and traded on a major
Canadian exchange, with a history of stable or increasing annual
regular dividend payments for the past five or more consecutive
years.
PowerShares Fundamental High Yield Corporate Bond Index ETF
(PFH.F) earned top honours for three-year performance in the
High Yield Fixed Income ETF category. The underlying index
(RAFI® Bonds US High Yield 1-10
CAD Hedged Index) uses fundamental measures of company size,
including book value of assets, gross sales, gross dividends and
cash flow, to create RAFI weights rather than market weights for
each issuer.
