Corporation (NYSE: ALB), a leader in the global specialty chemicals
industry, announced today that it has been awarded LEED Gold
certification for its recently completed headquarter office project
in Charlotte, NC.
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating
system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is
the foremost program for recognizing best-in-class building
strategies and practices in green building. Albemarle achieved LEED certification for
implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions
aimed at achieving high performance in the following categories:
water efficiency, energy use and atmosphere, materials and
resources, and indoor environmental quality.

The project, completed in June
2016, features 47,000-square-feet of office space spread
over two floors of the Capitol Towers development in Charlotte's SouthPark neighborhood. The South
Tower building, in which Albemarle Corporation is located, also
received LEED Gold certification in April of last year.
Project partners include: Lincoln
Harris, property owner and manager; LS3P, architectural
design; and Shelco, building and construction services.
