Miami Valley Students Explore Energy at DP&L and Vectren Energy Fair

The Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L), a subsidiary of
The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES), and Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio
(Vectren) will host an energy fair for young people from around the
Miami Valley to learn cool ways to save energy on Friday, March 3,
2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Dayton
(UD).

The Energy Fair gives 100 high school leaders an opportunity to
instruct students on becoming more energy efficient through
scientific experiments and demonstrations.
More than 375 students will attend the Energy Fair, facilitated
by the Ohio Energy Project (OEP), at UD’s River Campus building on
South Patterson Boulevard.
High school students from Greeneview, Lehman Catholic, McClain,
Oakwood, STEAM Academy of Dayton, Twin Valley South and Valley View
will be teaching students in grades 4-6 from the Archdiocese of
Cincinnati, Dayton Public, Kettering Russia and Troy districts.
Students will use Snap Circuits as well as a new Energy Baton to
simulate series and parallel electric circuits. The popular Energy
Bike will be back, along with experiments on sound waves, color and
thermal energy.
The Energy Fair is part of DP&L’s and Vectren’s School
Education Program facilitated by OEP throughout the school year.
The school program is part of DP&L’s ongoing energy efficiency
efforts for customers, which also include rebates on new heat pumps
and air conditioners, discounts on energy-efficient lighting, free
refrigerator recycling and rebates for business customers.
