Research firm recognizes that CIBC continues to lead and
cites its website redesign integrating digital money management
tools with everyday online banking
TORONTO, Feb. 1, 2017 /CNW/ - For the third year in a
row, CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) has earned the highest
overall score for online banking functionality among the Big Five
banks in Forrester Research Inc.'s 2016 Canadian Online
Banking Functionality Benchmark.
"We believe this recognition from Forrester is another
indication of how CIBC is consistently creating new and innovative
ways to put the client first," says Aayaz Pira, Senior Vice
President, CIBC Digital, Retail and Business Banking, CIBC. "Online
banking continues to be an integral part of our client's banking
experience, and is part of our focus on delivering banking that
fits the lives of our clients."
Forrester evaluated the online banking functionality of
Canada's five largest retail banks
(across 51 criteria, divided into nine sub-categories) to measure
how well each bank's secure website helps clients achieve their
financial goals. CIBC's highest scores were in the following
subcategories:
- Security and Privacy
- Account Management
- Marketing and Sales
- eDelivery
According to Forrester, CIBC continues to lead overall for money
management tools such as, the CIBC Financial HealthCheck(TM) and
Net Worth Worksheet, which are integrated into the most commonly
used areas of CIBC's secure site and empower clients to make better
financial decisions. CIBC is one of two banks that integrates tools
in this way, and Forrester recognized CIBC as being well ahead of
other Canadian banks in this area.
In June 2016, CIBC also tied for
the highest overall score in Forrester's mobile banking
functionality benchmark.
"At CIBC, we have a history of embracing innovation and our
clients are always at the forefront of new ideas and opportunities
in banking," adds Mr. Pira.
