Coca-Cola Co. director Howard G. Buffett, the oldest son of
billionaire investor Warren Buffett, won't seek re-election in
April, the company said Thursday.
The 61-year-old said he intends to focus on his work with the
nonprofit he founded and leads, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation,
which focuses on humanitarian and conservation projects around the
world.
Mr. Buffett, president of commercial-farming operation Buffett
Farms and a director in his father's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and
who has been discussed as a possible successor to his father,
joined Coca-Cola's board in December 2010. He previously served on
the board of Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., at the time the largest
bottler of Coca-Cola beverages in North America and Western
Europe.
