HOUSTON, June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The One World Doll
Project, a line of multi-cultural fashion and play dolls, has
announced that it will launch its new Prettie Girls!™ Tween
Scene collection in October 2015
at approximately 3,000 Walmart stores throughout the country.
"Our vision in developing the Prettie Girls!™ Tween Scene
collection was to provide young girls with dolls that represent
their individual backgrounds, stories, styles, goals and
inspirations," stated Trent T.
Daniel, Founder of The One World Doll Project. "It is an
honor to launch this new line, which endeavors to reflect America's
children, at Walmart, where America shops."
The launch will be supported by a variety of in-store
appearances by the dolls' designer, Stacey
McBride-Irby, a former Mattel® designer, who is widely
regarded for creating Mattel®'s first African-American 'So In
Style®' dolls, and the renowned artist and co-designer Robert Tonner.
The new Prettie Girls!™ Tween Scene collection consists of the
pre-teen versions of the four original Prettie Girls!™, Lena
(African-American), Valencia
(Hispanic), Dhara (South Asian) and Kimani (African). The line will
also introduce two new dolls, Hana (Asian) and Alexie (Caucasian),
who will be available for purchase through Walmart.com in the fall.
The Prettie Girls!™ Tween Scene collection, in addition to being
slightly younger in age, will be larger in size, measuring
approximately 16 inches in length.
The original Prettie Girls!™ were launched in 2010 by
Trent T. Daniel and Stacey McBride-Irby. The Prettie Girls!™ were
developed to help young girls embrace a values-based standard for
the word "pretty" by distinguishing each doll by their own unique
goals and aspirations. "Prettie" stands for P(ositive)
R(espectful) E(nthusiastic) T(ruthful) T(alented) I(nspiring)
E(xcellent).
