Experienced Business Leader Tom Egelund Named Chief Operating Officer

SuperSonic Imagine (Paris:SSI) (Euronext: SSI, FR0010526814), a company specialized in ultrasound medical imaging, today announces that Tom Egelund has been named Chief Operating Officer, effective September 1st, 2014.

Mr Egelund brings 20 years of top-level management experience and global business leadership in medical imaging and, more recently, printing technology industries. From 2004 to 2014 Mr Egelund served as Executive Vice President and divisional CEO for wide format printing systems at Océ, a publicly listed company and since 2011 part of the Canon Group. During the ten preceding years he held senior executive leadership positions at major European companies serving the healthcare sector with medical imaging and medical IT systems.

Throughout his career Mr. Egelund has managed businesses successfully both in terms of growth and earnings. He led organic growth programs as well as acquisitions and post-merger integrations. He was actively involved in all industry processes, from technology development to commercialization. Mr Egelund has a proven record of building strong and high performance management teams.

It is the intention of the Supervisory Board of SuperSonic Imagine to name Mr Egelund President and CEO on April 2015, succeeding Mr Jacques Souquet, founder of the company. Mr. Souquet, as member of the Executive team and Chief Innovation Officer of SuperSonic Imagine, will continue to be fully engaged with SuperSonic Imagine. He will concentrate on strategic matters and the company’s innovation policy, focusing on novel ultrasound product concepts and their clinical application.
