NanoTech and San Jose Community Bring Christmas Surprise to American Airmen Based in Afghanistan

This morning NANOTECH ENTERTAINMENT (OTCPINK: NTEK) announced the surprise delivery of over 250 Christmas stockings to American troops stationed in Afghanistan for the Christmas holidays. The outreach called, Stockings for Soldiers, is part of NanoTech Entertainment’s Founder David Foley’s ongoing mission to help military families and veterans from the California and Bay Area. While the base is at an undisclosed location in Afghanistan, the stockings will be distributed to the airmen on Christmas Eve night to enjoy when they awake on Christmas morning.

Air Force Technical Sergeant Josh Fleming told his wife, Jaclyn Fleming, he wanted to do something to lift the spirits of his airmen spending the holiday season in a desert serving their country, instead of at home spending time with their families. Due to Fleming’s sixth military deployment, he understood what his men and women were experiencing being away from home during a season highly associated with family. That is when Jaclyn put a plan into action to meet the need a half a world away.

Jaclyn and members of the San Jose community came together to create 250 Christmas stockings filled with handwritten cards from a local elementary school, toys, snacks, cookies, mints, disposable cameras, games, toiletries and grooming products, shipped to the men and women under Josh’s command. Volunteers gathered together at The Spiritual Center For Positive Living in Cameron Park to get the packages in the mail before the holiday mail rush began.

Even with all the manpower support, there was still the concern about the high shipping costs. This is where NanoTech Entertainment entered the picture and saved the day. The technology-based entertainment company based in San Jose covered the complete cost of shipping in order for all the boxes to arrive at the base for the airmen to receive by Christmas morning.

NanoTech Entertainment Founder David Foley knew his company should be involved with this effort. Foley said, “Jaclyn and Josh have made tremendous sacrifices for our country. It was only right that I petition the company on their behalf to pick up the tab as our small way of saying ‘Thank You.’ Their young daughters have a mom and dad of whom they should be proud. Giving back is the part of the corporate culture of the founding of NanoTech Entertainment and this is only one way we are fulfilling that mission.”

Fleming said she wanted this gesture of cheer from the San Jose community to be seen as a testament to the community’s support for the airmen. “It is a statement to our young men and women who are away from home that we care about them, remember them and want to wish them all a safe journey home,” she said.

In line with NanoTech Entertainment’s mission of giving back to their community, the company is continuing their salute to military excellence and service as it is in the process of discussing the donation of several 4K Ultra HD televisions and set top boxes along with gaming equipment to the San Francisco-area Veterans Affairs hospital.
