RegalWorks Media, Inc. (OTCMarkets & OTCBB: RWMI) today
announced it has secured full financing for Jake's Run, its
first feature film production. "We've reached terms with two
private equity sources," said Dane
West, RegalWorks CEO, "and we've set January 14th, 2014 as our start date
for principal photography. This is the first in a slate of three
new movies anticipated to be financed in the fourth quarter of 2013
and produced in 2014. We could not be more excited and this
puts us well on the way to meet our projections for 2014."
"This movie is based on one of the most amazing true stories
I've ever heard," said Adam Miller,
president of Genesis Pictures, RegalWorks' production
partner. "I believe audiences everywhere will enjoy
it." Miller is set to direct and produce, along with
Marina Martins, Jamie Miller and Bruce
D. Johnson. Mitchell
Galin is line producing. Executive Producers are
Bill Friday and Barry Glasser. Joey Paul Jensen is co-executive producing, and
providing casting services. Connectivity Media developed the
project and will be a production partner.
Jake's Run is based upon the true-life events of
Jake Porter, who won ESPN's ESPY
Award for the Most Inspirational Player in 2003. Jake has a
severe form of autism known as "Fragile X Syndrome," but through
his invincible courage and the steadfast determination of his
mother, Jake breaks through the adversity and social prejudice of a
small Ohio town and dramatically
transforms the life of the football coach, winning the respect not
only of those around him but of millions who thrilled to his
astonishing victory as an athlete and a human being in events that
were re-played on ESPN, YouTube and other social media. Jake
was featured on ESPN, Sports Illustrated, USA Today and elsewhere.
Announcements regarding cast and distribution are expected
soon. Jake's Run is scheduled to be filmed in
North Carolina.
