Pergo and Unilin initiate cooperation in glue-free joining systems for laminate
flooring

The laminate flooring company Pergo has signed a worldwide license agreement
with the Unilin Group of Belgium in the area of glue-free joining systems for
laminate flooring.  Under the agreement, Pergo will start to utilize Unilin's
Uniclic(R) joining system for several products in their laminate flooring
ranges.  The companies will also commence joint work on the further development
of glue-free joining systems for flooring.

"The growth potential for flooring systems with glue-free joints is very strong.
 After thorough evaluation of the existing systems, Pergo have selected
Uniclic(R).  This is the leading system and we regard its patent situation as
solid.  By starting this cooperation between our companies, we expect to enhance
our positions in our respective markets," explains Tom Almgren, President of
Pergo AB.

The companies will continue to work independently on the flooring market,
promoting their own brands through their own sales organization.  Pergo will
continue to use its new Cliq-lock(R) system and to develop glue-free joints
systems for parts of its flooring range, in parallel with the use of Unilin's
systems.

Unilin

The Unilin Group is a specialist Belgian manufacturer of such products as MDF
board and chipboard roofing elements, shelving systems and laminate flooring. 
The company has annual sales of Euro 500 million and conducts manufacturing
operations in three European countries.  Unilin's patent pending Uniclic (R)
system is marketed in 85 countries.

Pergo

Pergo holds world-leading positions in the laminate flooring market. Production
operations are conducted in Trellebor, Sweden and Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.
The company, which is a subgroup of Perstorp AB, Sweden, has sales of slightly
more than SEK 3.6 billion 1999.
