CR Crew Energy Inc

Crew Energy Inc. ("Crew") (TSX:CR) and Gentry Resources Ltd. ("Gentry")
(TSX:GNY) are pleased to jointly announce that Gentry received today shareholder
and court approvals for the previously announced Plan of Arrangement pursuant to
which Crew will acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of
Gentry on the basis of 0.22 of a common share of Crew for each outstanding
common share of Gentry (the "Transaction"). Shareholders of Gentry voted in
excess of 87% in favour of the Transaction.


Subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, the Transaction is
expected to become effective on August 22, 2008.
