Inventories of ethanol in the U.S. climbed last week within the expectations of analysts.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday that inventories of U.S. ethanol rose to 22.7 million barrels in the week ended July 23, from 22.5 million barrels the week before. Analysts surveyed by Dow Jones this week expected inventories to be anywhere from 22.6 million barrels to 23.5 million barrels.

Production decreased to 1.014 million barrels a day from 1.028 million barrels a day, while analysts had forecast production to be anywhere from 1.008 million barrels to 1.038 million barrels.

The most active corn contract in the CBOT rises 0.3%.
