German jobless claims fell again in November, continuing to drop even as analysts had expected an increase amid a second national lockdown.

Jobless claims declined by 39,000 in November after falling by a revised 38,000 in October, the Federal Employment Agency said Tuesday. Economists polled by The Wall Street Journal had forecast a increase of 10,000.

The adjusted unemployment rate fell to 6.1% from 6.2% in October, the agency said. This is below the 6.3% forecast by economists polled by The Wall Street Journal.

The number of registered job vacancies stood at 601,000 in November, down 136,000 on the year, the agency said.
