Henkel AG & Co. KGaA said Tuesday that it has opened a new warehouse at its production facility in the province of Barcelona, Spain for a total investment of 22 million euros ($26.1 million).

The German consumer-goods company said a fully automated laundry-and-home-care warehouse has been opened at the Montornes del Valles site, which produces more than 200,000 tons of powder detergents, liquid detergents and adhesives a year.

The logistic center's expansion has been driven by an increase in domestic production and rising demand for exports to European countries, Henkel said.
