EXPLANATORY NOTE

SodaStream International Ltd. (the “Company”) hereby announces that, in accordance with its practice to disclose open market purchases of its ordinary shares by its Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, on November 9, 2017 and November 13, 2017, Daniel Birnbaum, the Chief Executive Officer and a director of the Company, purchased an aggregate of 8,000 ordinary shares of the Company in open market transactions at a weighted average price per share of $63.26.

Mr. Birnbaum owns a total of 121,420 ordinary shares of the Company following these purchases. This amount does not include options to purchase ordinary shares of the Company held by Mr. Birnbaum.
