UK BRC like-for-like retail sales unexpectedly advanced in July
In the UK, the BRC like-for-like retail sales unexpectedly climbed 1.60% on a YoY basis in July, compared to a fall of 1.30% in the previous month. Market anticipations were for the retail sales to record a drop of 8.40%.
Euro-zone Sentix investor confidence index advanced less than expected in August
In the Euro-zone, the Sentix investor confidence index rose to a level of -25.20 in August, compared to a reading of -26.40 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to rise to -24.70.
Australia business conditions index climbed more than anticipated in July
In Australia, the National Australia Bank’s business conditions index rose to 20.00 in July, compared to a reading of 13.00 in the prior month. Markets were anticipating the index to rise to 15.00.
Australia business confidence index improved in July
The National Australia Bank’s business confidence improved to a reading of 7.00 in July, at par with market expectations and compared to a reading of 1.00 in the previous month.
