Company extends global footprint and customer experience with nodes now available across 16 regions

Vercara, a leading provider of cloud-based services that secure the online experience, is launching a new distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) and application security (AppSec) point of presence (PoP) in Toronto, Canada. As Vercara’s first node in the region, the PoP further extends the global footprint of the company’s UltraDDoS Protect and UltraWAF (web application firewall) solutions. The new regional scrubbing center provided by this PoP also enables Vercara to provide existing customers within Canada with an in-country data processing and mitigation option.

As DDoS attacks have continued to evolve and grow, Vercara has consistently made the network investments to keep up with these changing threats. Large Canadian financial, government, healthcare, education, and other regulated businesses have expressed a strong desire for an UltraDDoS Protect and UltraWAF node in Canada. These entities are under increased pressure to ensure data sovereignty for their customers by keeping Canadian data traffic within Canada. The new Toronto-based node provides excellent local connectivity options for customers in the region. It is scheduled to go online in Q3 2024.

With this new data center, Vercara extends its expansive network even further by providing:

  • Closer Geographic Proximity – provides a lower latency experience to customers in the Canadian market
  • Traffic Localization – ensures legitimate, non-attack traffic within the region stays in the region
  • Data Sovereignty – a Canadian mitigation center helps maintain national data sovereignty to meet the changing requirements of privacy regulations

The launch marks the company’s 16th node, adding to its existing PoPs in the U.S., Latin America, UK, EMEA, Asia Pacific, Australia, and the Middle East. Vercara continues to invest in increasing the capacity and resilience of its network, boasting more than 15 Terabits per second (Tbps) of total DDoS attack mitigation scrubbing capacity globally. The network offers the scale necessary to handle the largest DDoS attacks and the breadth of coverage to provide a low latency experience everywhere Vercara customers do business.

“Canada is home to many of our valued customers, including a deep set of enterprise and government institutions, and a host to many large, multi-national corporations that provide mission-critical services to consumers and businesses,” said Carlos Morales, SVP of solutions at Vercara. “We are pleased to expand our global UltraDDoS Protect and UltraWAF network into Toronto to better serve our customers’ needs and provide organizations with a proven solution for local DDoS attack mitigation and application security.”
