LOS ANGELES, April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AXS TV is
announcing today that it has renewed the hit hour-long celebrity
interview series, TOM GREEN LIVE—hosted by irreverent comedian Tom
Green—for a third season. The series will continue to air as part
of the successful "Seriously. Funny. Thursdays." live comedy
programming block lineup, which reached some of its highest numbers
this season. The second season of TOM GREEN LIVE will conclude
today, April 3, following an episode
featuring the always-informative Dr. Drew
Pinsky. The third season of TOM GREEN LIVE will premiere on
Thursday, June 12 in its regular
6pP/9pE time slot.
The intimate and in-depth interview show has welcomed guests
such as comedy icons Richard Belzer,
Howie Mandel, Artie Lange, and Andrew
Dice Clay, as well as skateboarding master Tony Hawk. In season two, Green drank whiskey
and chewed tobacco with esteemed newsman Dan Rather; reunited the high-flying comedy duo
Cheech & Chong; and visited with "Dancing with the Stars"
favorite Andy Dick and "Saturday
Night Live" legend Norm Macdonald.
His parents, Richard and Mary Jane,
who have frequently been a part of Green's comedy throughout his
career, also appeared on the show.
Besides its enigmatic host and unconventional style, what sets
TOM GREEN LIVE apart from other talk shows is that it is a truly
interactive experience. In keeping with the show's off-the-cuff
nature, Green invites fans to join in on the fun by participating
in the interview by using Skype to call in and chat, live and
uncensored. Other season highlights have included Green documenting
his epic misadventures in Los
Angeles, where he bought a 1979 Z28 Camaro that keeps
breaking down and then asked viewers to send him cassettes to play
in the vehicle's retro tape deck. He has also sent garden gnomes
around the country, asking fans to take pictures with it, before
passing it along.
"Tom Green brings his unique
comedy background, rich skills and passion for viewer interaction
to each episode, and combines those qualities to produce strong
one-of-a-kind conversations with talent," said Michele M. Dix, AXS TV's senior vice president
of programming and development. "Because of his desire for leading
irreverent discussions, his interviews present a side of his
celebrity guests that the audience doesn't often get to see. We're
pleased to have 'TOM GREEN LIVE' back for a third season."
"I'm incredibly proud to bring back 'TOM GREEN LIVE' for a third
season on AXS TV," Green said. "AXS TV's commitment to unique,
out-of-the-box humor, in a completely open and uncensored format,
is unparalleled. I'm excited to continue to push the envelope, with
even more spectacular guests, gags, and honest and insightful
interviews. We're just getting started."
TOM GREEN LIVE is produced by Tom Green Studios with
executive producers Tom Green and
John Schneider. Tom Green is represented by Tyler Kroos at ICM, Ryan
Nord and Dan Miller of
Hirsch Wallerstein.
