                        SHARE BUY-BACK

On  19th  May  1998  the Board published  a  circular  to
shareholders which provided details of a resolution to be
proposed at today's Annual General Meeting.  The proposed
resolution  gave  the Company general authority  to  make
market  purchases of ordinary shares and to  approve  the
waiver  from  the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers  of  any
Rule  9  obligation  which may  otherwise  arise  on  the
Directors of the Company as a result of such purchases.

The Company announces that this resolution, and all other
resolutions  proposed at the Annual General Meeting  held
today, were approved by shareholders.


                    TRADING STATEMENT

During the meeting the Chairman Andrew Hughes issued  the
following trading statement:-

"Wensum  is  trading strongly.  We have had a good  first
quarter  ahead  of expectations and well  ahead  of  last
year.   Wensum  Corporate has already  had  a  successful
launch  for  a new customer and continues to develop  its
support  services  capability. Our high-quality  clothing
business is also in excellent shape, and we have a strong
Group  order book.  Our prospects for the year look good.
The  Board believes that the current share price does not
reflect  the  Group's  ungeared  position  nor  its  high
quality of earnings".
