                             OFFSHORE MAURITANIA


Dear Sir/Madam

Hardman Resources Ltd ("Hardman") provides the following progress report on
testing operations of the Chinguetti 4-2 well, offshore Mauritania.


Current Operation:                Recovering the test string after completing the first production test in
(at approx 14:00 hours WST 2/9/   the primary objective.

Progress:                         The production test flowed at rates up to 1,560 barrels of oil and 650
                                  mscf of gas per day through a 30/64" choke.  The production rate was
(since last report 30/8/02)       limited because of sand inflow from the reservoir.



                                  Note: Sand inflow from reservoirs can be controlled and it is expected
                                  that significantly higher flow rates will be achievable from
                                  appropriately designed and completed production wells.


Forward Programme:                A production test of a second interval in the primary objective will be
                                  conducted.

Prospect Description:             Chinguetti 4-2 is located in PSC Area B.  The well is being drilled on
                                  the northern (upthrown) flank of the Chinguetti structure, approximately
                                  2.5 kilometres north of the Chinguetti-1 discovery well, which was
                                  located on the downthrown fault block.  This well is considered to be a
                                  significant step out from the discovery well and is evaluating a
                                  geologically separate portion of the prospect.  Total depth (TD) of the
                                  well is 2,655 metres (below rig floor).




Equity participation in the Chinguetti 4-2 well is as follows:



              Hardman Resources Ltd              21.6%
              Fusion Oil & Gas NL                 6.0%
              Roc Oil (Mauritania) Company        2.4%
              ENI Agip British Borneo Ltd        35.0%
              Woodside Mauritania Pty Ltd        35.0%
